The LZBSA Colt League is available to all ballplayers interested in playing baseball while attending high school.* This league allows boys to continue to play baseball in a structure that is highly competitive, very exciting and fun whether they currently play on the high school team or engage in other sports and activities at school. The Colt League allows kids to continue the friendships and challenges experienced during their earlier baseball careers whether participating in LZBSA or in other leagues.
Our league currently consists of teams from Lake Zurich, Lake in the Hills, Cary and Crystal Lake. This allows our players the opportunity to continue to play together against outstanding competition from other towns. In addition to 10 to 14 regular season games, there is a year-end tournament at the end of July with all teams participating. This format provides for a very competitive and challenging baseball experience that will benefit both highly skilled and recreational ballplayers. Whether your goal is to improve your skills to participate on high school teams, or just getting together with your friends and teammates to keep your baseball careers going, the Colt League is the place for you.
While individual coaches and players may arrange for a few practices, the focus for this league is on playing games. The season typically begins during the first week in June and continues until late July. Games are played on the weekends with a few evening games during the week. The schedules generally do not conflict with other sports camps or activities conducted by the high schools over the summer. However, we do organize rosters and schedules to be flexible enough to accommodate some conflicts when players have other commitments.
Please direct any questions to the League President.
* We do allow for players up to 19 years of age to play with certain restrictions. Contact the Colt League President for additional information.
