Lake Zurich Baseball & Softball Association Inc. 501c (3).
Since 1998, Lake Zurich Baseball & Softball Association (LZBSA) has been a local non profit organization that provides the youth of our community (Lake Zurich, Hawthorn Woods, Kildeer, Deer Park, Echo Lake, Forest Lakes, North Barrington) participatory baseball and softball activities. Our objectives are to teach the fundamental skills of the game through competition, sportsmanship in winning and losing, team participation, courage and loyalty.
LZBSA is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization which supports athletic programs for 1,000 boy and girls ages 5-18 each year. Our organization does not have the benefit of a park district for field and equipment up keep, so we rely heavily on local participation to fund the organization through registration fees, fund raising activities and the generosity of local business owners via sponsorships.
The LZBSA Board is comprised of enthusiastic, energetic volunteers that look to serve our local community youth. Board members oversee a specific league or particular aspect of our organization and help make decisions that guide the direction of the organization as a whole.
Lake Zurich Baseball & Softball Association Board Mission
LZBSA offers various types of baseball and softball programs so a wide variety of children can participate
Our house league goal is for the players to have fun while continuing developing their skills, demonstrating respect for others and learning how to compete by doing their best and playing hard. Season (s) are comprised of Spring and Fall.
Our part time program is designed for players in our in house program that want to test and develop their skills in a more competitive fashion. The program consists of games with local part time travel teams as well as local tournament play. The program consists of the “Storm” for Softball and the “Grizzlies” for baseball.
Our full time travel program is designed for players that want to develop their skills and play other competitive programs. The program is almost year round and includes multiple tournaments including out of state. The program consists of the “Lightening” for Softball and the “Cougars” for baseball.
This program, established in 1989 by Little League International, provides an opportunity for mentally and/or physically challenged youth to enjoy the game of baseball. By partnering with "buddies," participants learn the basics of the game and most importantly, are afforded a rewarding and memorable experience for all those involved.
Blue Crew provides local youth with the opportunity to show leadership and responsibility as an umpire for LZBSA. The participants will be trained to be an umpire, and for many will be their first paid working experience.
