Lake Zurich Baseball & Softball Association provides recreational, part-time and full time travel baseball and fast-pitch softball programs for the youth of Lake Zurich, Hawthorn Woods, Kildeer, Long Grove and adjacent communities. Dedicated to providing safe and enjoyable programs that teach a love for the game of baseball/softball, we stress game fundamentals, sportsmanship, discipline, teamwork, and a competitive spirit, all of which assist our youth in becoming responsible and productive adults.

LZBSA is re instituting the Director of Instruction board role starting this fall to impact our 2022 season and beyond
This is exciting news as role will be geared towards improved experience and development of our LZ softball and baseball players. While scope of the role is to impact all players in LZ, the major focus will be on our house and part time travel teams (Grizzlies and Storm). The methodology will be working with our coaches to develop better age appropriate skill developing practice plans; as well as run our off season clinics for our players and coaches.
New and exciting things are coming. Find out more about what the Director of Instruction will bring to the LZBSA.
The LZBSA and the Part Time Travel Grizzlies Program are making significant changes to the Part Time Grizzlies Program starting in 2022. The Grizzlies Program was originally created as an extension to the LZBSA House League season, we now see a demand for an alternative to our Full Time Cougars program for either the players and families that do not want to make a full-time baseball commitment or for those players that need additional player and skill development with the goals to play full time travel.
The Grizzlies Program is dedicated to provide a competitive program that is focused on player development, not wins and losses or tournament placement. With that as out main goal, we recognized that our programs practices to game rations did not align with that goal. So, staring in the 2022 season the Grizzlies program will be holding its tryouts in the fall, extending invitations to player in the fall, finalizing team in the fall and beginning training and practices in the winter. These winter training sessions are the major change, and we believe focusing on the individual players skill development throughout the winter will assist our players improve and make sure they are ready for the Spring season when it starts. The LZBSA will also be having the winter training academy for all age level and the Grizzlies players will be welcome to attend these sessions.
REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED.
Tryouts took place on September 13th & 14th. If you were unable to tryout and wish to be considered for the Grizzlies 2022 Program, please reach out to JR Kyes, Grizzlies President at JR@LZBSA.org.
