Lake Zurich Baseball and Softball Association

Congratulations to the Lake Zurich Major 12 U Red Team, who earned 1st place in the Alex Richardson Memorial Tournament hosted by Grayslake Youth Baseball.  The pre-game ceremony included a ceremonial first pitch thrown out by Alex Richardson's mom.  The tourney is held to honor Alex , who played in GYBA and then was a standout high-school athlete in Grayslake before being killed in a snowmobile accident when he was a high-school junior. 12 U team played an outstanding games with 3 wins to propel them into the finals against the Mundelein Crush, the LZ Red team won 3 to 2! The 12 U team members are Zach Bauman, Graham Butler, Brian Gleason, Tom Morrand, Michael Mussar, Travis Nix, Brady Pemstein, Matt Pontious, Nate Quinn, Nick Sanders, Eric Smith, and John Strojny.
