Sun Devils Win The Junior League Playoffs!

The Junior league Sun Devils won the 2010 championship game finishing the season with 15 wins and 1 loss.
The Sun Devils beat the Illini 6 to 1 in the final game. This game, like the entire season, was filled with great pitching and hitting.
Darcey Petrus, with nine strikeouts, was the opening and closing pitcher. Rachel Goldberg, with 8 strike outs, only gave up four walks during three innings pitched.
Strong hitters in the championship game included Megan Croke, Alex Leitl, Madi Ries and Alyssa Donton.
Like all season, Brigid Ferguson and Veda Teich showed tremendous speed and aggressive base runnning, each scoring runs in the final game.
The Sun Devils made great defensive plays throughout the playoffs. The team threw two players out at third base during attempted steals. Catchers Leyden Atlas and Julia Funk and third basemen Abby Jokerst and Jenny Svanson were involved in the defensive plays.
The entire team, filled with dedicated athletes, worked and played hard all season.
