Welcome to the Lake Zurich Baseball and Softball Association

LZBSA provides quality baseball and fastpitch softball programs for the youth of Lake Zurich, Hawthorn Woods, Kildeer, Long Grove and adjacent communities. Dedicated to providing safe and enjoyable recreation and travel programs that teach a love for the game of baseball/softball, we stress game fundamentals, sportsmanship, discipline, teamwork, and a competitive spirit, all of which assist our youth in becoming responsible and productive adults.

Calling All Buddies!

We are looking for LZBSA players, ages 11 and older, who want to be part of the Challenger program and assist a mentally or physically challenged player.
The buddy will help the player in practices and games this summer.  It is such a rewarding experience for all that are involved!  Please consider joining us this summer!


Interested in Umping?

If you are 14 years old or will be by May 1st and are looking to make some extra summer time cash, then umping is a great opportunity.

Required Training Dates:

  • Umpire Training 101:  Monday, April 3rd 7 - 9 pm
  • Umpire Training 201:  Monday, April 10th 7 - 9 pm
  • Umpire Training 301:  Monday, April 24th 7 - 9 pm

Training is REQUIRED for all umpires and will be held at the Lake Zurich Police Department Training Room (200 Mohawk Trail).  If you are interested in umpiring, please complete the following online form:

Players are separated by age groups:

7 – 10 years old, 11-14 years old

   March 19, 2017 (1:00pm – 2:30pm)

Early Bird Registration is over but it's not too late to register for the 2017 season!!!  

Beginning February 1, 2017, all registration fees will increase $25 for all leagues EXCEPT TYRO, ROOKIE AND COLT. Tyro will increase on March 1st. Rookie and Colt will increase on May 1st.

Don't Delay!  Players will be accepted on a first come basis until leagues are full.

    Field Status Updates

    Weekday game cancellations announced by 4pm. If games are NOT canceled before 4pm then any weather occurring after 4pm will be an onfield decision and will be made by the managers and umpires only.

    LZBSA General Information

    The program is designed for players ages 5 through 19.

    • Uniform shirts and hats/visors are provided at all levels.   Team equipment includes batting helmets and catcher’s gear.
    • Players are required to bring their own baseball/softball glove and recommended to purchase baseball pants.
    • The season begins with practices in *early to mid April.  Games begin in early May and run through June.
    • League evaluations begin in February (date and time vary by league)
    • Picture Day is May 7, 2017.
    • Post-season tournament tryouts in June.
    • Post-season tournament teams play through July.
    • Rookie league starts mid-June and runs through the first Saturday of August.
